ConVocation 2025: Explore and Build Pathways to the Divine

At the core of most religions, there is often a mystical tradition. Some argue that at the heart of all mysticism lies a singular teaching—a perennial philosophy. This workshop will explore and compare mystical philosophy from several traditions, including Advaita Vedanta, Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, and Kabbalah. Students will learn practical exercises to cultivate ecstatic experiences similar to those found in these great mystical traditions.

Through a fusion of modern dance, belly dance, and burlesque, you will learn to balance your physicality with your divine essence. Discover the power and grace of the feminine spirit as we explore four captivating choreographies to: Rob Zombies' "Boom, Boom, boom, Donovan's "Season of the Witch", Jacob Banks's "Chainsmoking" and Valerie Boussard's "A Little Wicked." Enhance your dance with the magical energy of a Broom or a staff as one of these will be incorporated into one of the dances.

Jacki Smith shares her tools to help you uncover what your values & ethics really are and dive into their origins to see if they fit who you want to be.
